Location: Memorial Union Atrium 1
This workshop will explore the importance for straight, cisgender men to reflect deeply on their masculinity in a variety of contexts. Considering how men are socialized from childhood into adulthood, we must examine the ideologies and behaviors that perpetuate various forms of oppression. Some topics that will be discussed include sexism, male privilege, intersectional feminism, and hyper/toxic masculinity. Participants will process these concepts through small and large group dialogue. This session will benefit cis-straight men and anyone who wants to learn more about interrogating masculinity.
