Hi, I’m Tiffany. I am a Senior here at the University of Rhode Island, majoring in Health Studies. I am one who embraces my ethnic background. I like getting to know different people because I feel that learning other’s stories can help us see things from a perspective that we are not use to. Everyone has their own story.
Workshop Title: How can someone Invisible be a Model?
Workshop Description: This session will be based off the concept of how creating myths for Asians is so easy. We will explore how Asian Americans are often pushed to the side lines for many situations, from modeling (for both men and women) in the media. We will debunk these false characteristics of Asian Americans all across the world, and explore what needs to be understood is that the Asian culture goes beyond just the Chinese and Japanese culture projected in mainstream media.
Workshop Location: Session I in the Memorial Union 308
